The new R48-Lite harmonic joint, renowned for its precision and ‘agility’, is attracting considerable attention

The most talked-about ‘star’ product from Cancer Intelligence is undoubtedly the all-new R48-Lite harmonic joint module, launched in early April. Designed specifically for high-frequency motion and high-dynamic-response areas of humanoid robots, such as the neck and wrists, this product is ‘precise and agile’.

The ultimate in ‘lightness’ and ‘compactness’: the module has an outer diameter of 48 mm, a length of just 45.5 mm, and weighs as little as 0.26 kg. Compared with the previous generation, the length has been reduced by approximately 8 mm, which means robot designers have more space to work with when planning layouts.

Outstanding performance: Despite its compact size, it delivers a rated torque of 5 Nm and a peak torque of 11 Nm. Combined with a reduction ratio of 101:1, this enables flexible neck movement and precise wrist gripping.

A pricing revolution: Cancer Intelligence unveiled a pricing strategy of 699 yuan per joint at the event. This pricing directly addresses a key industry challenge, significantly lowering the barrier to entry for the development of high-precision robots.

In addition to the much-talked-about R48-Lite, Cancer Intelligence—a company with in-house R&D capabilities spanning the entire technology stack, including harmonic reducers, frameless torque motors, dual-magnetic encoders and drive control—showcased a comprehensive portfolio of solutions covering robotic joints.

1. Harmonic reducer: As the ‘heart’ of the articulated module, Cancer Intelligence has introduced its own high-precision harmonic reducer. With sub-micron manufacturing precision and rigorous heat treatment processes, it has broken the long-standing foreign technological monopoly; this is also the key factor underpinning our ability to ‘drive down’ costs.

2. Full range of joint module matrices: To meet the load requirements of different parts of humanoid robots, Cancer Intelligence showcased a range of modules including the R58, R68, R83 and R120 series. These modules cover a variety of applications, including the head, shoulders, wrists, waist and hips. The entire range comes standard with 21-bit dual encoders, enabling high-precision closed-loop control of position and velocity. Comprehensive coverage of application scenarios: whether it is high torque output at the waist or the need for agile movement at the neck, Cancer Intelligence can provide standardised solutions.

3. Humanoid robotic arm: At the event, Juxie Intelligence conducted a dynamic demonstration of its robotic arm.
